Juche ensures high profile of DPRK

Today marks the first anniversary of The Democratic People's Republic of Korea Is a Juche-oriented Socialist State with Invincible Might, the discourse leader Kim Jong Il gave to Rodong Sinmun, the organ of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Minju Joson, the organ of the DPRK government, on the occasion of the diamond jubilee of the country.

Marking the anniversary, the Korean people are looking back upon the proud history of the DPRK with a pride of living in the genuine people's country, Juche-oriented socialist motherland.

In the whole process of its history from the laying up of the foundation for nation building and the initial days of state building to the present building of a thriving socialist nation, the DPRK has overcome unprecedented difficulties and trials.

The struggle to build a new country, a new society, was a severe and arduous course to surmount manifold hardships, but the country blazed a trail in accomplishing the cause of anti-imperialism, independence and socialism, worked historic miracles and accumulated great and imperishable exploits and valuable experience in the course.

President Kim Il Sung had solved all the problems arising in state building independently while leading the Korean revolution under the banner of the Juche idea.

The anti-Japanese revolutionary war led by him was a historic fighting that had laid the basis for founding the DPRK and ushered in the beginning of socialist state building.

After the country's liberation he chose a new form of government and carried out the line of state building and democratic reforms on the basis of precious traditions and experience gained in the anti-Japanese war.

The Fatherland Liberation War against the US armed invasion was the first and grimmest trial faced by the young DPRK and fierce war that would decide the fate of the country and nation.

The Korean people turned out as one in the just war and fought in a self-sacrificing manner, giving a full demonstration to their unparalleled popular heroism at the front and in the rear. Consequently, they defeated the US aggressor armed forces that had been boasting of being the "mightiest" in the world and defended the freedom and independence of their country with honour.

The historic victory in the war was clear testimony to the invincible might of the DPRK, to the strength of the state and socialist system, to the confidence of the Korean people in victory and to the truth that no one can conquer the people who are firmly united around their Party and leader by taking their destiny in their own hands.

The DPRK carried out the postwar rehabilitation and socialist revolution and construction in a creative way to meet the desire and demands of the people and actual conditions of the country.

It is the history of the Korean socialist construction that the government put forward a line and policy in accordance with the detailed situation of the country and requirements of the people and held fast to the line of self-reliant national economic construction to usher in a heyday in all the fields.

The DPRK established the principle of Juche, the independent stance, firmly in all the domains of politics, the economy, the military affairs, culture and foreign relations and dealt with everything in line with its idea, requirements and interests free from the established theory or formula.

That is why the country that had been backward for centuries could emerge as a people-centred socialist country, a socialist power—independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence—through the gigantic struggle to create and build socialism.

The Songun era, a new era in the Juche revolution, takes a special position in the history of the country and revolution.

Thanks to Songun politics, the destiny of the country and nation has been defended in spite of the worst situation, an era of creation and change opened up and the future of national prosperity is becoming a reality.

Songun politics is a sure guarantee for the Korean people to achieve national prosperity in their own way and with their viewpoint and conviction.

The DPRK, under the unfurled banner of the Juche idea, the banner of Songun, is demonstrating its dignity as a people-centred socialist country, an independent socialist nation with strong Juche character and national identity and an invincibly powerful socialist nation that is braving all sorts of hardships and trials in the face of threats of any formidable enemy.

The Korean people are now making vigorous efforts to hit the big goal of building a thriving socialist nation by dint of the DPRK's invincible might and with firm confidence in victory in the revolution.

The events of tapping the door to a powerful nation have taken place one after another including the successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 2 and introduction of latest science and technology in the sectors of the national economy. The industrial foundation relying on locally available materials and technologies has been provided, a turning point brought about in the economic construction and promotion of the people's well-being and miraculous achievements made in the fields of literature and the arts and sports amidst the flames of a new revolutionary upsurge, demonstrating the might of the country advancing towards the world.

The DPRK's cause of building a thriving nation is not a vague vision.
