Welcome to the DPRK

The Korean peninsula is situated in central East Asia. It is bordered to the north by China and Russia across the Rivers Amnok and Tuman, and by seas to the east, west and south.
Korea has an area of over 222,200 km2 and its population is about 70 million.
It is a homogeneous nation and its official language is Korean.
With a 5,000-year history and brilliant culture, Korea is called a golden tapestry of three thousand-ri (about 1,200 km) for its gorgeous mountains and clear water.
Korea has many celebrated mountains such as the highest Paektu (2,750 metres), Myohyang, Kumgang, Chilbo, Kuwol, Jiri and Halla.
The East , West and South Seas of Korea are all linked with the Pacific Ocean.
It has four distinct seasonal changes of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Each season has its own beauty.
The average annual temperature is around 8o to 12oC and average annual rainfall is about 1,000-1,200 mm.
The numerous monumental edifices exemplify the present-day DPR Korea.
