  • The 6th World Youth Football Championship(June, 1991, Portugal)
  • Our Unified Team beat the Argentina Team by 1 to 0 in the preliminaries and entered in top 8 teams by going up to the quarter-finals.

          INTRODUCTION ON SPORTS HEROES
  • Runner - Jong Song Ok
  •     Jong Song Ok is a pride of Korean nation who has demonstrated to the world the intelligence and spirit of Kim Il Sung’s nation by snatching gold medal at the women’s marathon of the 7th IAAF World Championships held in Spain in August1999.

  • Kye Sun Hui retains world judo title
  •     Kye Sun Hui won a gold medal in 57kg category in the 2007 world judo Championships held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She overpowered her rivals in every bout with high skills.

  • Weightlifting - Ri Song Hui
  •     Ri Song Hui, the D P R Korea Labor Hero and People’s Athlete who struck the world women’s weightlifting circle.

  • Pak Du Ik, Footballer
  •     Pak Du Ik is a famous forward who played a main role in beating Italian team, one of the strongest in the world that had a record of holding championships twice, at the 8th FIFA World Cup held in London, England in July, 1966.

  • Pae Kil Su, A triple world champion and the Olympic gold medallist, the D P R Korea Labor Hero and People’s Athlete
  • Pae Kil Su performed unique and skillful techniques in over 20 international games in his athletic career and displayed the dignity of Juche Korea to the world as the World Pommel Horse King.

  • Han Phil Hwa, a Star in the Skating
  • Han Phil Hwa is neither a gold medal winner of the Olympic Games nor a world champion. But she is recognized by everybody as a star in the skating world and a big figure in the Korean skating circle.

  • A woman athlete has grown up into a hero of the Republic and 20 women athletes into Labor Heroes.
  • Jong Song Ok, a gold medallist in the 7th World Track and Field Championships, the first woman Hero of the Republic of the athletes.
